The begining
I decided to take part in the annual music award of the school when i came across a poster pasted in the school.I formed a two person group with my friend and we went for the group vocal audition besides my solo vocal audition on 17th and 19th of April.I sang “第一次”by Guang Liang for my audition and harmonising version of “爱很简单” by David Tao with my friend for group vocal.To my surprise,it was later announced that my group vocal had won the "Merit award",meaning the most outstanding group among all ten participated groups;and l had entered the Grand Finals that fell on 07/07/07.Out of 40 participants for solo vocal,i'm one of the 5 people selected for the Grand Finals."Hard times"
After all the rehearsals and preparations,i chose "forever love" by Wang Lee Hom,a very well written piece with many singing techniques involved.Although i failed to hit the highest note during every rehearsal,my teacher convinced me to take the song because he strongly believed that i would be able to sing that song well for the night...07/07/07,"The Judgement Day"
My group vocal was selected to be the first item that starts the whole exciting night.We finished the song comfortably though I was rather nervous when i knew that over 800 audience were in the hall.The second category is the solo vocal,i was the last one to sing for this most competitive category.The four contestants did briliantly and the crowd was really "high" then~~~~
"My turn...",i told myself before stepping out the back stage.At that moment,i only thought of how i can present myself to the audience in the best way that i can be,ya..thats how i treated this music award.The crowd cheered so loudly when i managed to sing the highest part without any mistakes,and that was the moment,the moment i felt touched;the moment i dreamed of in the middle of the night...I smiled to myself in my heart,"i did it!"
"My first ever music award"
When the emcee annouced that my "forever love" had grabbed the title,i couldn't believe it.I'm always jealous to see singers get their music awards on the TV,and now,i got one as well!(though unconparable with Lee Hom~~~haha)That moment was indeed undescribable!!!The trouphy was titled "The best solo vocal-2007".In addtion,both my partner and i received our "merit award" as well.
"The little fame i got"
After that music award, i was invited to sing for the national day celebration held in the school.And i have a group vocal performance this Saturday night at Victoria concert Hall!No doubt,the music award gave me not only a trouphy but confidence,experiences and chances,and the most important thing of all:the joy and the passion i have for singing......
